Composer Peter Schindler on this separate edition from "Perpetuum mobile":
The love poems in the Codex Buranus are extraordinarily varied. In contrast to courtly love poetry, there is a strong focus here on physical pleasure, which is described in very concrete terms. Text no. 87 reads, "Love is sweeter than honey, it becomes more bitter than bile; love makes you blind, knows no shame. It is foolhardy and fearful, faithful but also unfaithful." And we can‘t ignore unrequited love, secret love or love that has ended. Everything is stirred up and it can drive you almost mad, as this song makes clear. After all this disappointment Amor, for whom we had so desperately yearned, is described as disgraceful. Thus love can be as cold as ice. A choral song with changing moods and tempi, with the soloists joining in strongly.
