La Campanella ist aus dem Bestreben heraus entstanden, dem Akkordeon-Solisten ein Musikstück zu geben, das einen etüdenartigen und zugleich konzertanten Charakter aufweist. Es umfasst nahezu alle technischen Spielarten der rechten und linken Hand (z.B. rasche Tonwiederholungen, Oktaven- und Akkordspiel, Arpeggios, Passagen und das Spiel aus dem Handgelenk). Die Metronom-Bezeichnungen sind lediglich als Hinweis zu betrachten. Es bleibt jedem einzelnen Spieler überlassen, das Tempo nach Geschmack und Können selbst zu gestalten.
