Reverie of the Mangrove was written when Laura was in bed with a high fever. She was experimenting with the Lydian b7 scale and thought it lent itself very well to an earthy, airy piece that highlights the dreamy nature of the mysterious mangrove forests and the colorful birds that inhabit them. If you close your eyes, you can hear all the birdsong communicated in this fascinating piece.
