Mein frühes, noch zu Schulzeiten entstandenes Streichquartett aus „Absences" ist ein erster Gehversuch in der „heiligen" Gattung Streichquartett, eine frühe Vorstudie zu meinem sehr viel später entstandenen fünfteiligen Streichquartettzyklus. Der Grundgestus ist vorsichtig tastend, die Gesten und Ausdrücke wechseln von Takt zu Takt, wie eine Vielzahl von Adjektiven bekräftigt, die den jeweiligen Figuren und Gesten zugeordnet sind.
