Ancient historical liturgical elements in new dress. Seven stanzas of the 12th century O Come, O Come, Emmanuel combined with seven Great O Antiphons of Advent from the Middle Ages set in a manner which provides flexibility in length/performance. Optional set of seven sermon meditations (included in Full Score) makes this a core for a complete Advent service. Congregation sings 5 stanzas and choir (SATB a cappella) sings 2 stanzas. Antiphons are sung by Solo Soprano, Unison Treble Choir/Unison Childrens Choir, with Flute and Organ. Brass Quartet presents stately Prelude, dramatic closing stanza, and selected moments in various hymn stanzas with congregation. May also be sung as extended chorale concerto.
