Composed by Meredith Willson. Arranged by David Holt. Film/TV. Brass Band. 55 pages. David Holt #5865831. Published by David Holt (A0.985298).
"It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas" was written in 1951 by Meredith Willson, and was first successful when recorded by Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters with Mitchell Ayres. This version is still widely played today and is fast approaching 100 million Spotify streams. Over the years it has been covered by numerous artists, notably reaching the top ten for both Johnny Mathis and Michael Bublé.
Here it is repurposed as a playful Eb Bass solo feature, which occasionally references the first three bars of the famous Christmas standard "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". This arrangement was written for, and first performed by, David Lepley of Horbury Victoria Band.
A version of the solo part for a Bb Bass player is included for flexibility, but the band parts were designed with an Eb soloist in mind. If a Bb player takes the solo, feel free to transpose the tune up an octave where possible.
Alternate clef trombone parts are provided.
